Application Procedure

The Georgetown University Medical Center/MedStar NRH Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Training Program is a categorical program including PGY years 1-4, with 6 residents per year.
Interviews are granted after review of appropriate application materials. Preference may be given to applicants who include a specific reason for interest in our program in the personal statement. It is rare for our program to interview applicants who have failed any part of their USMLE or COMLEX on any attempt.
The applicant for residency training position must provide the following documents:
Medical Student Performance Evaluation (or Dean’s Letter as applicable)
Three Letters of Recommendation from physicians practicing in the U.S. and Canada. If the candidate has previously been in a postgraduate residency training program, one letter must be from the candidate’s former/current program director.
Official Medical School Transcripts
Personal Statement
Curriculum Vitae
ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
Copy of Medical School Diploma (if applicable)
USMLE Transcript or NBOME Transcript
As applicable, all documents noted above must be submitted with official certified translations in English.
The Georgetown University Medical Center/MedStar NRH Residency Training Program participates in the National Resident Matching Program and abides by its rules and regulations. It will accept NRMP match applications only through the ERAS system.
