Georgetown University Medical Center and MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital offer an elective rotation for eligible fourth year medical students from medical schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) as well as schools with an accreditation status otherwise acceptable to MedStar NRH.

The program offers two clerkships:

1. Acting internship: The student will be assigned to one inpatient service for an entire month.  There will also be opportunities to work in outpatient clinics and to see acute care inpatient consultations.  The student will also participate once a week in our residency program continuity clinic.  Inpatient experiences could include spinal cord, traumatic brain injury, stroke, cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation care.
2. Fourth year elective rotation: The student will spend two weeks on one inpatient service, one week on another inpatient service, and one week working in our outpatient clinics.  There will be opportunities to see acute care inpatient consultations as well.  The student will also participate once a week in our residency program continuity clinic.  Inpatient experiences could include spinal cord, traumatic brain injury, stroke, cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation care.
