Ana Valeria Aguirre Guemez, MD
Dr. Ana Valeria Aguirre-Guemez did her medical training at “Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM)” in Mexico City, and completed her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and a fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation at the National Institute of Health for Rehabilitation “Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación LGII (INR LGII)” in Mexico City. After her residency she worked for five years at the Spinal Cord Unit of the INR LGII as an attendant while she was also engaged in research activities. In 2021 she started working at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, where she is currently doing her Research Fellow. She is currently studying upper extremity assessment and performance for individuals with a cervical SCI, to pursue the objective to develop tools for classification and rehabilitation, to improve their lives.
