Dr. Manon Schladen, Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine, Georgetown University Medical Center, received the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation (CHN) Psychosocial Research (PSR) award to support her fellowship project entitled: Identifying Patient-Centered Outcomes to Guide Use of Robotic Exoskeletons After Spinal Cord Injury. The PSR program includes two-year postdoctoral fellowships to encourage early-career mentored training to increase professional interest in the field and to encourage researchers from related health disciplines to undertake training in psychosocial research focused on spinal cord injury.
The goal of Dr. Schladen’s study is to better understand the experiences that people with spinal cord injury (SCI), their family members/caregivers, and their clinicians have had with wearable robotic exoskeleton (WRE) and to understand their priorities for WRE use.
