NEW STROKE NATIONAL CAPITAL AREA NETWORK (SCANR) FELLOW, SHASHWATI GEED, PhD

Shashwati Geed, PhD, is a SCANR StrokeNet fellow for 2015-2016.  She received her PhD from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she studied how shoulder and hand muscles are activated synergistically during reach-to-grasp movements, and the role of intermediate cerebellar circuitry in synergistic muscle activity during reaching to grasp.  She followed her PhD with a post-doctoral fellowship (National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training (ARRT), PI: Dr. Barbara Bregman) at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, where her research focuses on arm function recovery after stroke.
