PM&R GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION UPDATE

Dr. Eric Wisotzky has been named the new Program Director of the MedStar Health /MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Training Program. He is currently the Director of the Cancer Rehabilitation program for the MedStar National Rehabilitation Network and is Program Director of the Cancer Rehabilitation Fellowship.
Dr. Matthew Maxwell will be assuming the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program Director position in July. The Sports Medicine fellowship provides an additional year of training to develop skills necessary for the management of musculoskeletal injuries, including injuries to the spine, tendons, ligaments, and joints, as well as neurologic injuries including concussions and nerve injuries. Dr. Maxwell has also been named the Associate Program Director for the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program.
In addition to his role as Vice Chair of the GUMC Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Dr. Curtis Whitehair will be the Chair of the MNRN Graduate Medical Education Committee, and will also serve as one of the four MedStar Health System Associate Designated Institutional Officers for GME.
